Nederburg

Our rich history is immediately evident from the classic Cape Dutch gable homestead built in 1800 by the founder of Nederburg, Philippus Wolvaart, who acquired land in the Paarl Valley in 1791. When you visit you will see how the whitewashed walls, thatched roof, yellowwood flowers and beams and prominent verandah, have been faithfully restored and the house furnished with prized examples of Cape antique furniture. Exquisitely prepared dinners are still served in the impressive dining room and the house is soughtafter as a venue for soirees, film shoots and fashion shows.

Since April 2021, seasoned winemaker, Samuel Viljoen, has been responsible for overseeing the production of our Paarl cellar’s multi-tiered range that is being distributed to over 80 countries worldwide. He describes his cellar team as a band of brothers who spend countless hours together perfecting each bottle of wine.
