Woodlands Winery

The Woodlands Vineyard, established in 1973, was planted with the express purpose of supplying excellent quality, cool-climate grapes to create a classic red wine made from the traditional Bordeaux blend.

The Woodlands Winery, surrounded by heavily timbered country, is set in 10 hectares of vineyards. Planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with a smaller proportion of Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir, the vineyard also includes 2 acres of Chardonnay plantings which hold great promise for the future.

Since November 2000 Woodlands has been open for cellar door sales. At Woodlands we are offering an approach unique to Margaret River. Our cellar sales are located in our barrel storage area, enabling barrel samples. Also, the cellar is staffed exclusively by people intimately involved in the winery, providing a relaxed ambiance for tasting and discussion.

We believe that our most impressive aspect, however, is that we have made small quantities of back vintages of our wine available for sale This includes the astonishing 1995 Pinot Noir, the award winning 1998 'Margaret', and the hallowed 1982 Cabernet Sauvignon, which won several trophies and came runner-up in the 1983 National Wine Show for the best red wine of the show.
