Willespie Estate

Willespie Estate is a family-owned winery located in the Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River, Western Australia. Established in 1976 by Kevin and Marian Squance, both former schoolteachers, the winery began with the planting of 3.9 hectares of Verdelho, Semillon, Riesling, and Cabernet Sauvignon vines. Over the years, the vineyard has expanded to 32 acres of dry-grown, old-vine plantings, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Semillon, Verdelho, and Sauvignon Blanc. The estate's unirrigated vines rely on natural rainfall, contributing to the production of complex wines with aging potential. Willespie's winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing the unique terroir of the region to shine through in their wines. The winery produces a range of wines, including their "Old School" reserve range, which showcases the best their old vines have to offer. The cellar door, constructed from local stone and timber, offers visitors a rustic and welcoming environment to taste and purchase their wines.
