Thielen

Wine has been produced on the banks of the Mosel River for over two thousand years. Situated in the west of Germany, it was initially discovered by the Romans. Since then wine from the region has grown in popularity becoming famous throughout the world and winning awards on the international circuit.

The Thielen family have been making wine here since 1874 and over the years we have grown into an award winning wine producer, making high quality wines at affordable prices.

Our grapes are cultivated on some of the best vineyards Europe can offer. Planted on steep, south facing slopes the vines are nourished
by the slate soil, which not only enriches the grapes with natural minerals but also holds the heat of the sun. We grow three varieties of grape. Riesling from which we make a crisp, dry white wine as well as half dry and sweet wines and our Sekt; Weißer Burgunder for a slightly richer and smoother dry white; and Blauer Spätburgunder for our Rose and Red wines.
