Piggs Peake

Tucked away on the fringe of New South Wales Hunter Valley is Piggs Peake winery, the most exciting and innovative boutique wineries in Australia.

In January 2003 Piggs Peake came under the stewardship of Steve Langham , a young winemaker with a history of making gold medal and trophy winning wines.

The first release of the new Piggs Peake range came in mid 2003 with the release of the 2003 Sows Ear Semillon (an aging style off a 90 year old vineyard), the Wiggly Tail Marsanne (a rare varietal) and the Silk Purse Verdelho (a tropical monster).

Now in 2007 and into his 5th vintage, Steve has turned Piggs Peake into one of the Hunter's most talked about wineries.
With a great variety available, the wine list just keeps getting longer and more interesting. The addition of zinfandel to the range has proved extremely popular and the Italian reds have been well received.

Our 2006 reds are due for release in June, and with our limited quantities are sure to sell out quickly, once again.
Steve has also gained a reputation for his interesting dessert styles- the Iswine, Suckling pig Zinfandel and the Pigbrusco! There is also a delicious range of fortifieds.
So, if you're visiting the Hunter drop into Piggs Peake Winery, Steve is often conducting the tastings and you can discuss winemaking and styles with him (or you can come in Feb/March to see how the wines are made).
