Phelps Creek Vineyards

Phelps Creek Vineyards is a boutique family estate winery nestled in the West Hills of the Hood River Valley, Oregon. Established in 1990 by founder Robert Morus, the winery is dedicated to small-scale, high-quality production with a focus on estate-grown cool climate varietals such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Riesling. The vineyard spans approximately 36 acres, with 25 acres planted to Pinot Noir, 4.5 acres to Chardonnay, and half an acre to Pinot Gris, alongside experimental plantings of alternative whites on nearby Underwood Mountain.

The winery is known for crafting elegant, expressive wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Columbia Gorge, characterized by cool, wind-swept slopes and mineral-rich soils. Their 2024 Gewürztraminer, for example, offers vibrant aromatics of lychee, jasmine, and ripe pear, balanced by bright acidity and a crisp mineral finish, making it a versatile pairing for diverse cuisines. The 2024 Fleur de Roy Rosé of Pinot Noir showcases the subtle romance and freshness that Pinot Noir can provide, perfect for casual celebrations.
