Meerlust

Winemaking at Meerlust follows time-honoured tradition as well as modern techniques. The approach remains non-interventionist in order to allow each vineyard to express its individuality.

Johannes Albertus Myburgh bought Meerlust in January 1757. His ownership marked the foundation of the Myburgh Dynasty.

The work depicted, by Johann Frederici, gives a lively impression of life on the farm at the end of the 18th Century.

The tour includes a walk around the estate, through the 300 year old cellar, and a wine tasting.

These tours are hosted by the winemaker, or a member of the Myburgh family, so they are arranged by appointment only.
