Mantra Wines

In 2000 the Kuimelis family winery was born with the first release of Cabernet Sauvignon under the Mantra label. This lush, rich Alexander Valley Valley Cabernet was immediately embraced by top restaurants and wine shops. The 2001 releases of Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel were equally well received and were quickly sold out. The same is true of 2002.

ASTI VINEYARD
The Asti vineyard in Alexander Valley was acquired in 1994. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, were planted in addition to the existing Zinfandel. The vineyard is situated on rolling to steep hillside terrain overlooking and bordering the Russian River near historic Asti. Steep hillside vineyards pruned for smaller quantities produce the highest quality wine grapes.

CLOVERDALE VINEYARD
The Cloverdale vineyard was acquired in 1984. The 30 yr. old flourishing Zinfandel plantings were kept, and the remaining vineyard replanted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This world class vineyard is on steep hillside terraces at the 1100 ft. elevation and produces grapes utilized by wineries in their reserve and vineyard designated wines.

DRY CREEK VINEYARD #1
This Cabernet vineyard was planted on the "Home Ranch" in Healdsburg in 1993 soon after it was acquired. It is located in the hills above the Dry Creek Valley floor.

DRY CREEK VINEYARD #2
Also located on the "Home Ranch", but at a much higher elevation, this small hillside vineyard is planted to Merlot and partially intermingled with olive trees on the terraces. This vineyard produces an exceptional Merlot.
