Koves-Newlan Vineyards and Winery

Koves-Newlan Vineyards and Winery began as Newlan Vineyards in 1967 with the purchase of a 13 acre walnut orchard in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley. The orchard was converted to Cabernet Sauvignon and the grapes were sold to Clos du Val, Inglenook and later to Robert Mondavi. When we discovered that our grapes usually ended up in their reserve or cask programs, we decided to create our own wine. The Newlan Winery was established in 1981, with the release of a 1980 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon. Newlan Vineyards quickly became recognized for its red wines, especially Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon, winning awards both internationally and domestically. The awards have continued to this day for all varietals produced.
