Our winemaking philosophy is simple: The best wines are made from the best grapes and those superior grapes are grown on mountains, hillsides, and benchlands along the cool California coastline.

Kendall-Jackson's winemaking philosophy is firmly rooted in family heritage. When Jess Jackson founded Kendall-Jackson in 1982, his mission was clear - to make the very best wine, he required quality in every step of the process - from the vineyards to the cooperage used to age and add subtle nuances to the wine.

To ensure quality cooperage, Kendall-Jackson co-owns a stave mill in France. This allows our winemakers to influence and control the quality in the barrels used to age our wines.

Finally, our winemakers handcraft each wine to perfection. They keep the vineyard lots separate in our cellars, constantly tasting each barrel and making sure those uperior flavors and aromas found in the vineyards gracefully age, gain more complexities, and intensify for a truly exceptional final wine.

To this day, the Jackson Family vision resonates within Kendall-Jackson, and is why we remain one of the few family-owned wineries in beautiful Sonoma County Wine Country.
