Rather a disappointment when compared to the other Hess Select Cabs. The 2005 simply has a harsh exterior with an unpleasant acidic follow through that does not mellow with over an hour of breathing. As with the other Hess Cabs thre is a strong note of cherry. This added an unusual note of anise and had a fine nose. But a complete disaster in the drinking. We were so disappointed with this wine that we threw it out without finishing the first two glasses.

A remarkably complex wine with strong notes of cherry with a deep undelying slight hint of smokiness and caramel. The aftertaste is a warm and mellow full throated affair still strongly hinting of cherry but with a slight cranberry note. Overall an excellent wine at the price

This Chardonnay has nice aromas and flavors of pineapple, green apple, and lemon with hints of vanilla and peach.

This wine shows aromas of guava, pineapple and orange blossom. The flavors are rich with pear, apple and vanilla with hints of citrus.

This wine has aromas and flavors of boysenberry, blackberries, cherries, pepper and hints of cedar.
