Glen Eldon Wines

Glen Eldon Wines is a family-run boutique winery located at their property in the Barossa and Eden Valley region. Their land was originally settled in the 1880s by the Herbig family, who planted vines, fruit trees, and managed livestock, laying the foundation for the estate that would later become Glen Eldon.

Mary and Richard Sheedy officially established the Glen Eldon label in 1997 after Richard’s prior roles as winemaker/general manager at Elderton and St Hallett. From that foundation, the winery has grown into a respected producer known for small-batch, terroir-driven expressions of Barossa varieties.

Glen Eldon sources fruit from diverse sub-regional microclimates across the Barossa Valley floor and Eden Valley—specific vineyard sites include Tanunda, Springton, Mt McKenzie, and Mt Pleasant in the northeast. Each vineyard parcel brings distinctive characteristics thanks to variation in soil, climate, aspect, and meticulous viticultural attention.
