Overview
Fairbrossen was founded by the Bowness family who planted their first vines in 1995 in the renowned soils of Wilyabrup, Margaret River, Western Australia. After initially establishing the winery in the Perth Hills, the family returned to Margaret River in 2019, replanting new vines and nurturing old favourites. The winery focuses on small batch, handcrafted wines made with a ‘hands off’ approach to winemaking, allowing the terroir of Wilyabrup to truly express itself. Their vineyard spans over 4.5 hectares, planted with classic French varietals such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Shiraz, and Chenin Blanc, chosen for their suitability to the temperate Margaret River climate. Fairbrossen is committed to sustainable viticulture, including cover cropping and minimal intervention practices, aiming to produce wines that are vibrant, complex, and reflective of their unique terroir. Their range includes sparkling wines, reds, whites, fortifieds, and dessert wines, with notable varieties like Tempranillo Reserva, Vermentino, Petit Verdot, and the rare Saperavi. The winery also offers exclusive wine club memberships with access to limited small batch releases. The cellar door experience is family-friendly and often features events celebrating Spanish flavors and local culture.
