Black & Ginger Wines

Black & Ginger Wines is a collaboration between winemaker Hadyn Black and entrepreneur Darcy 'Ginger' Naunton. The two high school friends, sharing a passion for wine and the outdoors, established the winery in 2015. Their journey began with the purchase of one tonne of Shiraz grapes from the renowned Malakoff Vineyard in the Pyrenees, leading to their first vintage. In 2016, Hadyn and his wife Lucy acquired a vineyard in Great Western, naming it Hounds Run, which has since become integral to their wine production. The winery focuses on small-batch wines crafted from both traditional and alternative grape varieties, emphasizing quality and innovation. Their offerings include unique blends like the 'Miss Piggy' Orange Muscat and Riesling, as well as a nouveau-style Grenache and Graciano. Black & Ginger Wines is committed to organic farming practices, with the goal of achieving certification.
