Opened/Commented: 24th Nov 2007 By: buckfoss  Rather a disappointment when compared to the other Hess Select Cabs. The 2005 simply has a harsh exterior with an unpleasant acidic follow through that does not mellow with over an hour of breathing. As with the other Hess Cabs thre is a strong note of cherry. This added an unusual note of anise and had a fine nose. But a complete disaster in the drinking. We were so disappointed with this wine that we threw it out without finishing the first two glasses. |
